Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) is a method in which the chromosomes of embryos are checked before they are transferred to the uterus. The aim of the test is to select embryos that have a normal number of chromosomes<\/strong>, thus increasing the chances of successful implantation and healthy pregnancy development.<\/p>

Why is PGS applied?<\/strong><\/h3>

In IVF cycles, the selection of embryos to be transferred is based mainly on their morphology<\/strong>, that is, their image and structure under the microscope.
However, good morphology does not always guarantee<\/strong> that an embryo is genetically healthy.<\/p>

PGS offers the ability to assess the actual chromosomal health<\/strong> of the embryo before its transfer.<\/p>

What does Preimplantation Genetic Testing offer?<\/strong><\/h3>

Embryos selected through PGS have:<\/p>

  • greater chance of being successfully implanted<\/strong><\/p><\/li>

  • lower risk of miscarriage<\/strong><\/p><\/li>

  • higher chance of developing into a normal pregnancy<\/strong><\/p><\/li>

  • increased chance of giving birth to a healthy newborn<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul>
